One of my ladies is acting like she is trying to lay an egg but there seems to be nothing there. No hard lump or anything. But she is pushing.
She is out of sorts, not eating much and doesn't want to move around. We thought she was egg bound so we tried the warm bath, put her in a warm dark place, used lube and did an internal exam but unless there's an an egg way up inside her we can't feel anything. She is pooping, but its all white.
Any ideas?
hate to see her like this...

Oh and she is a 1 1/2 year old buff orpington that has been a great layer in the past.

I don't think she is egg bound. I think she had vent gleet. Can't wake her up right now so I think she is almost gone:(

I think your chicken has a good chance for living. The first thing you need to do is calm down. I know that it's hard for you to see your hen this way, but you need to calm down in order to help her. The first thing you should do is take her to an avian vet A.S.A.P. In the meantime you can try the following remedies. I have posted the links below, they are all from trusted sources.

Hope she gets well :)
