my little hen just hatched her egg i was wondering my daughter has been pestering the hen she wants to see the baby chick when i go check on her she is fine when my daughter checks on her she go nuts sounds like she is screaming noooooo i checked on her at 4pm she moved her chick and herself to a different spot then i checked on her at7pm and she was outside but i didnt see the baby chick i was wondering if the hen killed the chick or what happened to it i told my daughter to leave it alone but she is33yrs old i hope the hen didnt kill it and its just back in the nest that is where the hen went back to to sleep

I would suggest finding the chick. Not all hens are good mamas. This one may be perfectly great mom, but I wouldn't be able to sleep if I didn't know that the baby was under mom safely sleeping. Sometimes the chick can't get back up to the nest and you might just need to help it in. You shouldn't handle it too much, but dang if you didn't see it at all....I would really suggest finding it in the least!
