This is my first time incubating a hatch of eggs. How long do I wait before helping out. I'm on day 22 now and nothing. No noise no piping.

Hi :welcome

Glad you could join the flock! 21 days is just a guide line nothing set in stone when it comes to chicks hatching. Have your temps been ok through incubation? Sometimes a slighly low temp can cause chicks to be delayed. When did you start counting your days? Did you count day 1 as the day you set the eggs or after a full 24 hours of incubation? You could candle and tap the eggs to check for movement or peeping once you are sure of your days. If you here peeping this means they have internally pipped and should be placed back in the incubator to continue the hatch process.

Lots of great advice on what to look and listen for if your eggs are delayed.

Good luck :fl

good luck with your hatch.

Was counting the days as per what the incubator days do I guess day one is not day one.today the incubator should say day 23 so maybe day 22. Waiting impatiently.
