Helping quail hatch

Hi, yesterday one baby quail started pipping but it wasn’t making any process in hatching. So I searched it up and it said it could take up to a day for hatching but after that we should help the quail hatch. It was going well, we were removing the egg shell, not the membrane very slowly but then the baby started making these strange noises and stopped moving. I didn’t know what to do, we started to freak out and just wanted to know whether it’s dead or not. We put it back in the incubator just to see if it’ll hatch.

That sounds like the chick didn't make it, but it won't hurt to wait a while and see. When chick has problems hatching, that doesn't mean that it's doomed, but there is a good chance that it was having problems for various reasons.
