I had previously written with much detail this post before but for some reason the site shut down and took a minute to reload so I’m going to keep it brief. I have a Cockel named Biggums.
At 13 weeks of age he has become really aggressive and his bites seriously hurt. He’s a big bird really big for his age. Pulls feathers out of the other birds and mumbles to himself and seems restless all the time. His father chases him so I’ve decided to separate them .His father is a jersey giant and actually a wonderful and romantic gentle rooster. His mother is a black sex link that I got off of craigslist named Beepea(See Avatar) I decided to hatch some eggs and he was the biggest of the four that hatched. He was a gentle little chick and suddenly he’s turned into a miniature dragon. Today I was looking for vitamins because I was feeling stressed and tired and came across an old plastic vitamin bottle that had hemp in it that a customer had given me over a year ago. I put some in a pipe and smoked it and it had that mild like you had one beer affect. I blew some towards my little monster Biggums and he stood there for quite a while just sort of looking at everything and I guess he decided that everything was OK and now he’s just sleeping on a pillow. He’s not really sleeping his eyes are closed and he’s listening to me. Maybe this is a fix for an aggressive bird. Has anybody else tried this on an aggressive rooster like maybe feeding him some pot or Hemp?
The photo is of Biggums just observing and his hyper attitude is abated( for how long?).

Marijuana is toxic to animals and like any drug, you have to know the right dosage to prevent side effects and long term damage.

Your cockerel sounds like a teenager at the moment this is normal. His hormones are raging and needs time to balance himself out.

hemp is as much toxic to animals as it is to humans and humans have been smoking it for thousands of years.
It is only as toxic as you want to believe it is but there is also plenty of evidence to suggest that it has medicinal benefits.

The only problem with using it for a cockerel is that he might get withdrawal symptoms on the days you aren't blowing him across some smoke and become even more aggressive than he was before. I don't think it's a viable thing to consider even if it does work to sedate him in the short term.
