This posted before I could write a description. One of my azure blue’s hen’s comb has a row of white, and then purple at the tips. Is this something to be concerned about? We are in lower New York and it’s been freezing here. She is laying, eating, drinking, and otherwise acting normal. Thank you. Though this morning and yesterday morning there was a cracked blue egg. Not sure if these things are related or not. I would think/hope no.
The comb look like frostbite. Poor baby. You don't want to interfere. It will eventually come off on its own. Bigger/taller comb tends to get frostbite.
Thank you very much for responding. I hate the idea that she has frostbite. I will leave it alone, as you suggest. The crack in the egg has already lessened since it’s been in the house. Winter hazards. :-/. Glad there’s likely not an underlying health problem. Thank you.
