Hi all. I have a question...I had a hen who was sitting on a clutch for 2-3 days (not sure exactly how long, as she was not in the coop where she's supposed to be). Last night she got spooked off her nest and spent the night in the coop with the others. This morning she's back on her nest. Are her eggs still good, or should I take them away? The temperature overnight was around 50 F, I'm afraid the eggs probably died in the cold. I don't want her to spend all that energy sitting on a bad clutch, but I don't want to take them away and commit chick-ocide, either. Any thoughts?

well, my broody was also not in the coop and got spooked off her nest(I then had to scare the darn skunk away before he ate the eggs

). Anyway, when she came back to the nest in the morning she only say for a short time then was off till 2pm when we decided to pull the eggs. It was around 40 (think it got down to 36 at night) until around 11 and still barely got above 50. I checked them yesterday and they were still going(a couple quit). These felt like they came out of the fridge when we took them out so I say toss them in an incubator or leave under the broody and give it a shot
