Hi, I moved to a horse farm a week ago and moved my 11 chickens. They were all acting normal until this morning when I noticed one of my hens was resting in the coop while the others were out in the run eating and moving about. I encouraged her to come out and she still wasn’t herself: just kinda standing quietly, opening and closing her eyes like she didn’t feel well. I went over her and noticed a small bug on her that I couldn’t Identify and also her feathers near the base of her tail were almost a little greasy looking. A couple things: they have free ranged few times around the barn, but I’ve been over the barn area prepping for my horses and I don’t think there is anything they would have gotten into but obviously I can’t be 100% sure. The area that we currently have the run in is hard and sandy we are in south Jersey but there isn’t much for a dirt bath at the moment so that’s top on my list of concerns. We are planning on moving the coop to a new location soon. Again it’s just been over a week since we moved and all the others seem ok at the moment. ive also had some small ants getting into my feed container but i dont think that would be issue, but again ive never had it happen before so i dont know. Coop was cleaned before move and has shavings and straw inside. Feed and water is hung above ground. I’ve never had illness issues with my flock before so I’m concerned and don’t want to have a whole flock issue. Thanks for your input.

When was her last egg? Is she pooping? What's that like?

I'd be inclined to get some extra Calcium into her. 1 Calcium Citrate+D3 tablet once daily for a week.

Not sure about the bug, see the link below to help I.D. whether or not it's mites or lice.
You mention that feathers near the base of the tail were almost a little greasy looking, is this near her Oil Gland? Can you look at that to see if it's clogged or swollen?

Even though they are adults, most do build resistance to Coccidia found in the soil and their environment (where they were living), I'd still consider giving them all a round of Corid within the next week or so, just to help them out if they are encountering a different strain on the "new property".

BUT, for the current sick hen, I'd check her out for the bugs and get the Calcium into her to see if that helps - sounds like she may be having some laying problems.

Liquid Corid dose is 2tsp or Powdered Corid Dose is 1 1/2tsp per gallon of water given for 5-7 days as the only source of drinking water.
Do not add any extra vitamins/electrolytes that contain B1(Thiamine) to food or water during the course of treatment.

How’d this turn out? What did you do? Thanks!
