Hi all, our Barred Rock (not sure her age)has become very lethargic, stopped laying, and acts like she is gasping for air. Also seeing foam around her beak. We tried some worm medicine (Ivermectin) but that hasn't changed things and crop doesn't seem enlarged. Acts like something stuck in her groat. She typically strains her neck much more than the attached video shows.

Any ideas or guidance would be appreciated.

Your video won't play--it says "this video is private." Look inside her beak and throat especially for any yellow or gray patches that shouldn't be there. Many respiratory diseases will cause this. Gapeworm which is very rare can cause almost constant hoarse chirping and gaping of the neck. Is there any nasal discharge or swollen eyes/face? Here are some diseases to read about: http://edis.ifas.ufl.edu/ps044

Changed the video setting to public. thanks for the fyi.

I looked in her throat and this is definitely a bunch of yellowish "gunk" built up in there. Tried to pull some out with needle nose pliers and it is just a mush consistency. Not seeing any other discharge or swollen-ness.

Thanks for the info Eggcessive.
