i have a Rhode Island Red who is usually quite aggressive and try’s to get all the food. Tonight she has no interest in the meal worms I give as treats. She just watches the other hens eat. This is not like her at all. It doesn’t seem like her crop is impacted our that she is egg bond.i have only had my girls for a year and three months, but this has never happened. I’ve raised them from chicks. They have food, water, grit and calcium availiable always and have a large run. Her comb and eyes all look good, no wheezing or anything else. They also have several dusting areas with DE. Any ideas? I’ve heard they can go downhill quickly, but I’m not sure what she needs?

is she eating from your feeders?
could I see a pic?
is she pooping?
does her vent area look normal?
has she been wormed before?

Her vent looks good. Looking at her she looks great. It’s just her behavior that’s odd. She was eating fine this morning. I didn’t she her poop, but everything in the coop looks normal. They have not been wormed, but I’ve never seen anything in their poop. I have sprinkled DE on banana because I heared that help prevent worms. They also get butternut squash seeds for the same reason

If all the above checks out, is it possible there's a new flock order? Maybe another hen is queen of the roost now.
I have six’s hens, 5 are sweet as can be. This one goes after me every chance she gets (I think she believes she’s a rooster) I have seen her fighting with the other hens the last few days, I hope for both are sakes this is what the problem is

Some people might lock up the aggressive hen for several days, give her an attitude adjustment. I would opt to do so myself.

Banana, pumpkin seed, nor DE will prevent worms unfortunately.
Also unfortunate, many parasites won't be visible with the eye in poo.

I have not seen worming medication at our tractor supply. Any recommendations on what to use and how often? She seems fine this morning, she just isn’t being aggressive which isn’t her normal behavior.
