Hen acting wierd

I have a 20 week old easter egger that has been acting wierd. For the last 3 days when I let them out to freerange she run around looking for small place where she hide. Well i'm not sure she hiding or what? She acts sort of like she broody but has never layed an egg. she does get in the nesting box and kick the straw out and sit in there. Could she be closeto laying an egg? Or could the rooster be picking on her? thx

Sounds like she's getting close to laying her first egg as evidenced with her in the nestbox. When she's good and ready to lay, she'll go back to the nest and lay her egg. Only you can see and tell if the rooster is picking on her.
