New to all this computer stuff, but not to chickens. However, I'm stumped by a bird! I have hen [1 of nearly 40 adults] that goes through almost all of the motions a mama hen goes through. It's odd because she only acts this way when the other adults are near her. She isn't actively sitting, no repeated trips to her nest, not molting. All of my chickens are free range, and I mean they have over 30 acres to roam as they please, so she may have a nest that I've overlooked. Since she's not spending any time on it so far that;s a possibility. She's been acting like this for 3 or 4 days. The only thing different is the 26 chicks I've put in cages outside until they feather out some more. Any ideas?
