I have this little broody bantam hen that we are thinking about giving a chick for her to foster. We recently had to give my sweet rooster away because of his rowdiness towards the neighbors and now she's alone. These are pets by the way so I only had a pair. I wasn't sure if there was a safer way of introducing the chick to my broody hen than slipping it under her at night. I want to be sure that she doesn't attack the chick or disown it. I don't think it would be warm enough outside for the chick to live without her being loving towards it. So is there a different way to introduce a chick to a broody hen so that she will accept it as her own? A safe way where I can be there if something go wrong?
