I'm new to all this chicken stuff my hen has been sitting on eggs and she hatched one and there is 3 more eggs every time I go out there to check on the baby chick ahe not sitting on them anymore. Do I need to get rid of the eggs they have gotten co

Baby chick was hatch sunday and the eggs very. The egged that hatched was slated 10-22 and the ones that are still there are dated back in Sept. I figured if those last three dont hatch I was gonna throw them out at the end of November. But she keeps getting and they are getting cold.

If they’re from September then they’re way past their sell by date. Chicken eggs only take 3 weeks to hatch. You can candle the eggs to make sure they’re dead, or open them up.

I’d let her raise the chicks now and discard the eggs, she can’t raise chicks and brood eggs at the same time.

We are not selling them we wanted to try to get eggs for our selves I only have 2 hens and 1 roster and now 1 baby chick
