Hen and rooster being bullied by 6 others

We got a mix of chicks this March. TheY stay in the coop at night and range 6+acres during the day. This week we noticed one rooster and one hen refusing to come out at all. My husband brought them out for a drink one 100 degree day, and Red rooster took after them, pinning the rooster and beating him up. Since we have noticed that if either pokes their head out then one of the six chases them back. We've already had to cull one mean rooster, my 3yo will be very upset if we have to cull any more. And the victims are our favorites that will come sit in my lap. Advice?

The only thing I can see for you to do is to pen the mean roosters/bullies or start culling. I know of no way to alter their personalities. Good luck.
