My road island red ate a piece of plastic. Not that hard type of plastic you would see a gallon of milk made of, but kinda like from a plastic bag, just clear and just a tad bit more stiff i think. I didn't see it, and she grabbed it into her mouth. I was going to go get it out from her grasp, not thinking she was going to eat it, but she gulped it right down! I don't know how much junk they eat since they are free ranging during the summer, but I've never seen them eat plastic before. Will eating plastic affect her any?

She shold be okay. OnE of my chickens ate some of a foam cup once and lived to tell the others about it lol. I had to chase her down to get the rest of it away from her.

Yup, a day later and she seems fine. Although, her egg was very big. She is a new layer, and today's egg was VERY big, compared to the one yesterday. It almost fits right in the egg carton! :lau You think the plastic could be in the egg? Lol :wee

I have found all kinds of things in my chickens' gizzards. Bracelets, Silver Dimes, roofing nails, etc. About the only thing these objects had in common was a silvery color not unlike your hen's plastic.
