I had an Australorp hen get her whole rump bitten off by a fox! She's fine now, but it took a lot for her to get better. Just clean her wounds every few hours, apply childs neosporin and dress her wounds with a clean bandage. Scrape away any skin that looks infected!

Hey, I'm glad the hen is doing okay! I know I'm a bit late on this topic, however a small tip. Here in Malta, to prevent stray cats and dogs from urinating or hanging out near our doors, we used to place a couple of 1.5 liter plastic bottles(without the labels) filled with water. It is said that the cats would see their reflection and run away. This method is very popular nowadays as well, however there is no solid proof that it actually works. So as a safe measure, I'd place a couple of these bottles around the coop/run. If you are really worried and want to be sure that your hens are safe, a dog will always protect your hens, however train him as a pup to protect them :) Best wishes to you and your flock! :)
