My Black Australop got attacked last night by her flockmates. There is blood all over my run, I didn't notice who was injured at first. I assumed my roosters had finally begun to fight. Looking them all over from a distance and not seeing anything, I let them out. Only after doing that did I see the side of her face. It looks like it's down to bone. The eye is missing, she has a scissor beak noe. I'm assuming they broke her jaw.
The question - does this sound like something I can treat? I am a LVT, so I do have medical experience and meds at my disposal. When I catch her later tonight I will bring her to.work.and examine her more closely.

She had a broken jaw in 3 places, so I euthanized her
Wow. I'm so sorry that happened! I'm curious, had she always been with them? Were there previous squabbles? Mixed flock? What breeds? Any recent changes? I don't think I've ever known an attack to be that brutal with an established flock. Now I'm a little worried!

Mixed flock raised together since chicks. I have her sister who they left alone. There have been issues with the roosters beating on a different hen, but never her. It happened overnight when they were all in the coop together. Dr.'s at work said a lot of the time it can start out as a small issue but that the other chickens will begin to attack the weakest one once there is an issue. So I'm assuming breeding got a little out of hand and it escalated from there. I can post a picture of her post mortem of her injuries if anyone is interested.
