Hen automatic door opener on timer

I like my opener very much, but it is not timer operated. It operates with light sensor. Opens at dawn, and closes at dusk. I researched quite intensely, before making my choice/decision. Adoor 1 is what I chose for my needs. Have it operating for 3 years now without any problems. I change the $5, 6volt lantern battery each year.

I have a Chicken Guard Extreme, and I love it ! I've only had it installed for a month or so, so I can't speak of longevity, but from what I've researched, it seems to be a good one.

It is battery operated, so no electricity is needed.

It opens / closes with light sensor, timer, or a combination of both for custom settings. It's a little fiddley to install, and I've been in construction for many years, but once it was in, I set it, and forget it !

I'm sure others will be along with more experience than I.

A door is not feasible here. My chickens do not go in at a certain time and some will be still out way after dusk. Do not want to chance having some not make it in. When I know I'm not going to be available to close them up, do not let them out. I have a nice size chicken house which is attached to four chicken tractors. So, they have plenty room.

I have both Ador1 and Pullet-Shut. Ador1 is a guillotine-style, and Pullet-shut is like a door. They both are safe as soon as your chickens learn when to go back to the coop. I had a small chick stuck once in Pullet-shut, but no harm was done, I was able to open the door and liberate the chick. After that, no accidents. With young chicks, it would make sense to watch them at night for a few days to make sure they learned. I've never had a problem with adult chickens.
