Hen beating up rooster.

Has anyone ever had a hen beat up a rooster? Our one rooster was eaten by a fox along with 3 hens. We have 3 older hens left and they had seemed lost without their rooster.

So, I got a rooster from neighbor. They didnt know the breed, but he was with 2 other roosters and a hen.

Anyway, he is very mellow, never crows and the hens chase him. There is one hen who constantly body slams him.

Our chickens are free range during the day but cooped at night. They get along fine in the coop.

We feel bad for Bob, the rooster, because he acts more like a hen then a rooster. There isnt a chance for babies cuz the hens hate him. he is a year old and has been with the hens for 3 months..He isnt the most attractive rooster and I guess the hens know it..lol..

We agree... when we introduced him, we called the hens and they came running out. They took one look at him and were like hell no..and ran away to look for worms...

He hangs with the new baby chicks, but they have their own click and he is left alone a lot...

We just never heard of a rooster being dissed like this... we just laugh, but feel bad for him..

LOL! Mine gets slapped around by 3 of our 6 hens. It's really odd because I got my flock from an established one and he was a "surprise" to the owners----they thought they had culled all the cockerals but he was apparently missed. He had the snot beaten out of him all the time by the dominant rooster before the group came to my house, so I think he is a bit mixed up and emasculated.(he sits in nesting boxes a few times a day.. and then comes out and has his way with the three hens who let him. c'est la vie, right?)

Must be one of those "progressive" Roosters. Worried about the wants and needs of the Hens. Kinda "touchy feely" feminist Rooster.

Here is poor bob...he looks a heck of a lot better since we got him.. but here he is with the one big bad black hen and pencils. (Pencil leaves him alone).

im sure he is progressive, that or he is in drag...a hen pretending to be a rooster..lol..
