I have a flock that has 4 EEs, a white leghorn, a cuckoo maran, and a new silkie. After about a week of having her everyone but 1 EE gets along with her (well the cuckoo maran is broody so she doesn’t get along with anyone but she tolerates her) the EE, Nugget is brutal to her! She’s gotten better but I really want the silkie to be able to live with the flock full time and I don’t feel comfortable doing that with Nugget. She’s getting better and acts fine then all of the sudden she’s chasing the silkie and pulling her feathers out! Right now the silkie lives in a separate pen in the coop and gets “play dates” with the other chickens. Any idea how to stop Nugget from being so mean? I do have a very cluttered coop with trees and branches and many things to hide under or behind

Agree with sourland above. Remove the offending party not the offended for a week or so, then reintroduce her to the flock. This resets the pecking order, or at least that's the idea. If it works in a week, great. If not, she may need to be removed again for a longer period of time. The key is kicking the bully down a few notches.

We raise Silkies and house them with our full-size birds. Funny enough, some of the Silkies take the larger birds to task if the order gets established that way...
