Hen being singled out by rooster and being attacked.

So yesterday at feeding time, I let the barred rock out and of course my roos was chasing her again. But something funny happened and she came running to me and he followed her, but I gave him a good slap in his chest and he went away. She went in the main coop last night with him and no problems. So this morning I let everyone out and my Roos as always is a freaking horn dog. Comes blaring out and chases all the hens trying to get them to submit. Came to the barred rock and did his cutting the wing dance but no fighting. Maybe the old boy is smarter then just a normal Roos and learned his lesson.
