Hen crows, rooster does not?

My roos have always been dominant over all hens in my flock. I believe the porcelain to be a cockerel. Are you POSITIVE that the crowing is coming from the Mille? If so, I believe you have 2 cockerels.

yes, 100% positive the crowing is coming from the Mille.

I have two hens that will crow just like roos. One is definitely the flock boss. The other, is the "boss" of my younger batch. (5 hens are 7 yrs-old, 3 hens are 3 yrs-old) (old Australorp gal in my profile pic crows from the roost some mornings, and will definitely jump onto a lawn chair, throw her head back, and crow loudly like a roo. Hilarious!) You probably just have a dominance display as others have stated.

Mine starts out by leaning over so far that her chin almost touches the ground then as the crow continues, raises up to almost upright but not quite.

Yes, even over a rooster. The pecking order in every flock is as follows.

Dominant Hen
Dominant Rooster
2nd dominant hen
3rd dominant hen
4rth, 5th, 6th, etc...
2nd dominant rooster "if there is one"

This is definitely true at my house! I thought maybe it was just because my husband brought home a bantam rooster that couldn't quite reign in my RIR's. We actually have 2 hens that are dominant over the roosters. Only the rooster has ever crowed though....
