Hello all,
I have a concern, one of my hens has started crowing like a rooster, she is a buff orpington, I have noticed some bulling from her, in the hen house when the other hens go in to the nesting boxes to lay. Also I have noticed her waddles are twice the size of my other buff. Should I be concerned? What actions should I take
Thank you

If you don't have a rooster, it isn't that unusual for a hen to take up the duty, including crowing. What's more likely, though, is that you do in fact have a rooster. Pictures, please?

how old is she? and are you sure she isn’t a he lol, you could post some pictures here to determine their gender :)
She's around 3 years old, and definitely a hen,

I have one rooster to 31 hens, and 15 more hens coming on the 10th of September, I cannot say for sure if she's still laying or not
M-F ratio is not in play here....some hens just get a hormone imbalance.
When did her comb and wattles get bigger?
I doubt she's laying, but here's how to tell.....

I had a 2yo hen crow all winter one year, and helped the cock in rounding up the other birds.
She stopped that when she came back into lay after winter break.

Because it's so many ladies she may consider herself to be a roo now or at least become very dominating. Some chickens can be extreme with this transformation. My austrolorp named EE started to act more rooish a while back when we had about 24 to 1 now we have 12 to 1 (4 roos) and she still exhibits male behavior such as getting on her girl friend Galaxy.
