hen died after being out side one day

Young hen out in last years garden for first time .been in garage coop for cold months next day she was dead I'm n coop..others seem fine. She always had poopy rear feathers and was bloody few weeks ago could she have been sick the whole time I had her.?

It's possible and maybe she got into something poisonous that finished her off.
