Hen Died Suddenly! Buff Orpington

She was a Buff Orpington that I got as a chick in mid June last year, who died on Feb 28 or 29th. She was acting fine the day before then the next day when I went up she was dead in the floor. I have 2 of them and one was acting strange, and didn't want to get out of the box, and the other was hanging around my feet all day. All my others were fine, now the other Buff is acting strange, she wouldn't get out of the box yesterday. I have yet to go check on them today, I am now afraid of what I will find.
My father said to check for signs of a weasel but I found none, and I believe that it would have targeted the weakest one. Plus, I have 12 Guinea Fowl in with them. I had first thought that one of them could have done it, but there was no sign of a fight.
I am from New Jersey, has anyone heard of this happening to others of history for this breed. There others are Barred Rocks.

Sometimes they just die like everything else. If there isn't feathers missing, or injuries evident it probably wasn't attacked.

Buff Orps are known for being somewhat broody. Your other girl just may be going broody on you and not wanting to come out of the box for that reason.

Sorry about your other orp - they are such pretty and sweet girls.

Those two were the friendliest chickens that I have ever had. They would want me to carry them around or at the end of the day take them to their coop. Neighbors must of thought I was nuts carring those 2 around. This spring I may get a few more.
I do think you are right that she has gone broody, I took her out today gave her her own food, turned over a board so she could get a few treats then she ran back in, but went back in another nest box. Do they go in a different one each time. I thought that they keep to the same one. Plus, there were NO eggs from anyone today, a rare thing.
Could the other hen have starved herself?

She could have been egg bound,maybe.
Another thing, I've had guineas before & they turned mean to my chickens around mating season & I got rid of them.Could be that they are bullying your hens?

If she was just starting to lay, she might've had a problem with the eggs.
I'm sorry for your loss.
The other one does sound like she's working up to going broody.
