I don't have any experience with this. You could try asking in an existing thread on the topic or start a new one. Do not be discouraged. I've noticed some folks can be impatient or borderline rude. Just follow their instruction as they are the experts

I found thechickenchick on the internet and she describes egg binding causes, symptoms, and treatment in detail. Please try to check it out as egg binding can be fatal. There is too much info for me to write here and I don't know how to attach it to this post. Please let me know how it goes.

Chickengirl28, you should give your girl some calcium. It works fast to get the contractions going. Give Tums, Rolaids or human calcium tablets broken up into small pieces. If she won't eat them you could crush them and mix the powder w/baby food, etc. If you don't have any you could give water with vitamins and electrolytes but I don't think that would be as effective. Next, soak her lower half in warm water 15-20 minutes. Towel her off and give her a blowdry. I also read that applying Vaseline around the vent can help. If the vent area looks really inflamed you could apply Preparation H just inside the vent to help reduce swelling so the egg can pass. Good luck to you and please let me know how it goes.
