I have only two hens. One came down with Marek's Disease, became paralyzed on left side wing and leg. The hen died two days later, the other hen is distressed beyond belief, she misses her companion. My question is, since these two birds have lived together more than 4 years, can the remaining healthy hen be put with other chickens without risk of infecting them? Other than the stress of losing her companion she is healthy and active. Should it be expected that se has the disease, and if so will she be a danger to new chickens???
Thanks for your help.
