Hi everyone! A friend of mine led me to this site to hopefully find some answers. I have an almost 1 year old Danver hen that is terribly sick. I found her in the bottom of her coop 2 days ago laying on her side unable to walk. She had a lot of poop stuck on her, so I brought her right inside and soaked her in Epsom salt to clean her up. During the bath, she was so lethargic that I had to hold her head up to keep her from drowning. Over the last couple of days, I have been treating with Tylan and Vet rx. She is gaping a lot and sometimes makes noises. The first day she was inside, she would try to eat but would seem to choke (thrashed around and then would gape afterwards). Vet RX on her beak seemed to help relax her enough that she could sleep. The gaping improved for a day or so, but last night when we went to give her meds, she ate some feed and it seemed to build up in her mouth. My Fiancee had to suck the food out of her mouth with a syringe because she was not breathing. Now, she is back to gaping consistently until she's asleep. My friend told me to try a drop of olive oil and a crop massage, so I'll be taking that step next. I'm just not sure what else to do, so any advice is greatly appreciated.

Turmeric and ginger in water for inflammation given with a syringe, sounds like she might have something stuck in her throat. Is she pooping ok?
