bumblefoot infection removed last nite.Hen is still sleeping ,I wake her up to eat and drink ,but is not .She was already just laying down when we discovered her problem. Is it normal for her to sleep like this?

How old is she? Was she acting normal except for lying down before you treated her? Just wondering why you were treating her bumblefoot when she was not up and able to walk around. Do you know why she wasn’t able to get up before the bumblefoot treatment? Could she have been sick or dehydrated? Was she getting enough air during the procedure?

I dont know her age.got her Jan 2024 she was already laying. You could see bumblefoot scab on her foot. She did not like to stand ,would walk a little, but then lay down.was eatting good.

I would make sure that she is getting sips of electrolyte water. How does her crop feel—empty and flat, full, firm, doughy, or squishy/puffy? In early morning before eating it should be empty. Has she been laying eggs recently? Has she been molting (losing feathers) recently? She could have reproductive disorder that is making her prefer to lie around. Does she seem to limp or act sore, or walk wide a wide stance? If you have any pictures of her or her bumblefoot scab, please post them.

Her crop is empty I have 8 hens in same coop all same kind, they dont have 8 eggs in there everyday ,so dont know if she has layed latly or not.I was out of town last week also.Sitter said she was moving slower. They all have been molting a lot.She is limp, wont stand, keeps feet curled up.

What are you feeding? If she has not been getting around well, she could have a vitamin deficiency or dehydration. I would be sure that she is getting a balanced layer or all flock feed. Get some human vitamin B complex tablets and give her 1/2 tablet daily. Hold water up to her beak.
