Hi this is a bit of an emergency.

I have a brown hen (not sure what kind) and today she seems to have an air bubble under the skin on the right side of her breast shoulder area. I'm not sure if its her crop or not.

I touched it and it appears to be entirely made up of air. I can see quite clearly because shes going through a bit of a molt.

Her comb was a bit purple up by the tips, and she spit up liquid when I picked her up to examine her.

I really need help!

Should I pop it to see if it deflates?

Please reply!

Roman.

Could it also possibly be sour crop? I only ask because she spit up..... when the crop is "sour" and full of gassy liquid, they'll regurgitate a bit when you press on it. Lots on here about sour crop if that is what it turns out to be: try feeding plain, live-culture yogurt first.

Keep us updated if it turns out to be that air sac thing dlhunicorn is talking about.

Good luck with her.

Stacey
