Hi. My hen has a bare and very poopy butt. There is also poop on her feathers under her vent. Her poop is runny and especially white and vent looks normal. This started about a week ago and she acts normal. What should I do?? Should I be concerned?

Can you post some photos before and after you clean her up, of her poop and vent as well?
How old is your hen?
What type of food/treats do you feed?
Does she lay eggs? When is the last time she laid an egg?
Have you ever de-wormed her?
Is her crop empty in the mornings?
Does she have any swelling/bloat or fluid in the abdomen?
Any foul or yeasty odor from the discharge at the vent?
Have you checked her over for lice/mites?

@Meehan Welcome To BYC! We are glad you are hear. I'm sorry to hear that you are concerned about your hen. If you answer the questions above and provide some photos, we can give you some better suggestions.

@Wyorp Rock Sorry I can’t get a picture but it is not that bare, just a little under her vent. I think this is because the poop on the feathers below are being held down. Everything looks normal, just dirty. She is a little over a year old and I feed them purina pellets and give them mealworms, apples, tomatoes etc. nothing to much and I choose one of those to feed them. Yes she lays eggs and currently is laying still. She laid one yesterday. No I have never de-wormed. Yes her crop is empty in morning. No mites, no odor and no fluid. Thanks for your help!

Give her a clean up and take a look at the vent to see if she has a discharge or if she is just dirty.
