Hello, I hope someone can advise me on what to do for my little hen. She’s about 5 years old and had molt last summer and her feathers never came back. Shes looked like this for a year now. She doesn’t have mites, I looked her over. Is there a supplement I should give to her? She eats what the others eat. A 16% protein all-flock feed. Thank you!

I had an issue with one of my hens being bullied when I tried to introduce her to another one in my flock. She had quite a few of her feathers re-plucked, after a recent regrow from a previous bullying flock. I started adding a bit of fish oil to her food in the morning. I just bought some general fish oil capsules and punctured a hole in them to apply to her food. It seems to have worked decently well with my situation.

Hello everyone,

One of my Hens looked like she was Molting but it has been over 5/6+ Months and she looks horrible. She acts normal but her feathers are a mess. Any suggestions? Thank you!

Maybe be a little more strict with their diet for a while and see if that helps. Some of my chickens just fill up on grass/dirt constantly or they're just picky eaters who don't have a very balanced diet, I deal with it by locking them in with their feed for a while so they have to eat it.

They may need higher protein feed for now too, or just protein needs to be supplemented somehow.

I've also had chickens look like this if they never dirt bathe ever, their feathers become very disorganized like that. Could be another issue.
