We recently purchased some laying hens. The condition wasn’t super bad but the floor was sorta wet. She’s breathing deeply and when I opend her mouth there was thick saliva on the sides of her mouth almost like she had just ate a slug. She was in the coop though so no way it was possible. It’s also a see through saliva. She’s a australop and is probably only a few months to years old

I have the exact same problem with one of my rescue hens. She breaths really heavily and whenever I pick her up it’s really loud. And can’t squak either. I’m not sure what to do

I usually go for tylan 50 orally for respitory issues. You can buy needles then remove the sharp end. I got some recently online at valley vet. Tractor supply also has chicken meds usually refrigerated, I'd call around before making a trip. But I'm not sure about the saliva issue.

She’s acting really weird. She will sleep standing up and be gasping for air. I’ve heard oregano essential oils help in the water so I’m going to do that. I’ll keep you updated if you’d like!
