My rooster is very old and has worn out his cockadoodledoo. Other than his voice, he's doing really well and makes a point of mounting the girls, albeit only every now and then. Anyway, one of the hens seems to have taken over the morning wake up call. She goes to the coop door and starts making the sound hens make when they've laid an egg! She's very, very loud and does it over and over again to the point that I get concerned that something's wrong and go running out there only to see her standing proud and yelling at the top of her lungs. Ever hear of this?

How funny! I have never heard of this myself, but I am curious to see if others have

I haven't got a rooster, my bantam Brahma shouts for breakfast every morning. If I'm not there at sunrise. I don't know if its the egg song noise because she is quiet during the day
