hen hasnt layed for about a month

my hen is a easter egger and yes she is molting. even though she is molting is there any reason for her not to lay for a whole month??? i thought molting lowered the egg amounts not stopped them. i just had a chicken die of being egg-bound. i dont want it to happen again... any help??? is this normal

Most chickens stop laying for 2-3 months when they molt, though some lay fewer during the molt. My leghorn hasn't laid for 2 months and is just now getting some nice long feathers in.

The daylength is shortening, she is molting, EE have not been selected for maximum egg production. When she completes the molt and the daylength increases she will once again present you with tinted eggs.
