My turkey hen disappeared a few weeks ago and came back three days later. We assumed she had a nest somewhere in the bordering woods. She came back almost daily for quick water and food breaks. Today our other birds were acting odd so we went looking for her and found her laying on babies (didn't see them but heard chirping) what should I do next? This is her first year of laying so I am worried about predators and/or starving down there.

Once they all hatch and become active she'll take them foraging. Perhaps she'll bring them home for water unless there is a water source where she is and you can lock them up then. I suppose the rest of the birds free range? She won't let them starve. I would worry about predation though.

My birds used to free range but now they are all in a fence, she just refused to stay home. She has the nest right next door
