Hen hatched one chick

Hi all, my hand has hatched one out of her six eggs and I’m wondering how long should I wait for the other eggs to hatch. Also, is the check OK under there with the eggs or will she get smashed up against them? I want to move them into a larger area so I can add their food and water.

I would wait at least 24 hours after the chick has hatched - even longer if it is evident that the eggs are viable. Most hens raise up slightly once the chicks start hatching. Sometimes an overly large or clumsy hen might crush a chick, but that is unusual. Good luck for more chicks.

The chick will be just fine.
The chick will be able to find it very cozy under mom's wings.
I normally let the hen tell me when she is done. She will get up from the nest to lead the chicks to food and water. I love watching them follow mom! I will grab the eggs from the nest after she leaves them for some time.
