Found a nest that all my birds had been 'donating' too. So I split the eggs under the only two hens I had sitting. One hen hatched a little BB chick and two Australorp hens.

But this hen only hatched the guinea eggs....so far...not sure if she will get chicks or not. Not even sure how this is going to work out. Do you think she will need therapy when they grow up? So far she has 3 keets:

Gawd look how thick those shells are no wonder they are soo tired after they hatch out.

Yep, very thick shells. Last year I gave 4 dozen eggs to a local artist friend of mine that blows out the eggs and then does laser sketching on the whole egg shell (and sells them for huge dollars!)... She requested the thickest, most sun-bleached shelled eggs I could gather for her, lol.

Beautiful Momma Hen siroiszoo, hope she hatches out lots of keets for you and raises them up to be smart little keets! Most keets that I have seen that are hatched and brooded by chicken Hens do great. They mature quickly and are very hearty and self sufficient, as long as they are kept safe and not picked off by predators! Good luck with them! Post more pics after she's done hatching keets and running around all proud and protective with her brood!

Pics like this make me want a few Hens, sigh

I want to give that a try myself. There are a couple of Rattite breeders up in my neck of the woods. But I want to start with guinea eggs. I have a cousin that does Scrimshaw and she makes a fortune for hers.
