Hen having bathroom issues?

I let my flock out to freerange earlier, and noticed one of my hens is squatting (not submissively) and trying to use the bathroom, and there's a long 'strand' of green feces hanging out of her rectum. Any advice? Is catching her and pulling it out a bad idea? (I sure hope so, not looking forward to it.)
