Hen hiding in dark corner...not sure what is wrong?

I am not sure how to get her to injest any type of liquid, as she doesn't respond to me except when i carry her around (she is in my house now), and even then she doesnt even open her eyes... :hitI hope she gets better, and I will definitely update in the morning
You can try holding a little cup of water up to her until the tip of her beak is dipped into the cup and see if she’ll drink.

Im sorry to say that my hen away not too long after my last post. I guess if i had found out about her condition earlier, i could have done something. According to my mom and sister, she had been behaving like that since the morning, but i was gone early in thr morning, so i didnt have time to check. ;( thanks for taking the time to answer, i hope no one else has to go through this

Does she lay eggs yet? She could be bound with a soft shelled egg, especially if she is just starting up. Now that you have her inside, you can monitor her. Is she pooping? If so, is it normal poop? Feel her body over, more than just her crop. Is her breast muscle wasting away? Is her abdomen bloated with fluid?
If she is unresponsive, this is pretty urgent. Can she get around on her own? As long as she is strong enough to get off it, if needed, she may enjoy a damp towel laid over a heating pad. Do you have a heating pad? Do you have oyster shell you can offer her? If not, you might try crushing a calcium pill over scrambled egg and see if she’ll take some bites. You can also crush a calcium pill or tums into a raw egg yolk to get her to ingest some calcium. I hope your poor girl gets through this! Please keep us posted.
I thought she might be egg bound, but when i checked, there was no shell in the vent. She did have white slimy poop that looks like the white part of an egg, except that it wasnt completely transparent. It would just come out, she wasnt pushing or anything. She could have had a soft shell egg, i dont know what they feel like or how to check for that. The only bulge i felt was her crop, and i dont know where that could have come from since she was hiding in the coop the whole day, according to my mom and sister. I just hope that if this happens again, ill be able to catch the symptoms early on, and maybe ill be able to do what you suggested

have you tried to tip her over to see if you can empty her crop. I did that for my hen before and it seemed to help her if she has fluid built up. you can also use a dropper and open her beak and put some fluids down her to keep her hydrated.

I held her upside down and tried to massage thr crop but nothing happened...i maybe should have tried harder. she passed yesterday

So sorry for your loss. The egg white matter does sound like she may have been egg bound and had an egg break inside. A necropsy to look for a cause of death could be done by your state vet. Some will do a necropsy at home to look at organs which may help in answering questions about the death.
