Hen house door rod

Hi all, I am building my first coop and have seen example rods that allow you to open and close the chickens' door without having to enter the run. However, I have only seen it in pictures and have not been able to find one to purchase. An example picture is attached. Anyone know where to buy one or supplies to make one?

Not sure you can buy one,
unless you could find a 'replacement' part from one of the prefab coops makers.

If you're handy and have metal working experience and tools,
it wouldn't be too hard to make one.

Might be easier to have your pop door operate vertically and use rope and pulleys(or screw eyes) for out of run operation.

You could take a piece of wood (boomstick or similar) and put an eye in the end(s).

That would be a pretty simple way to make a 'hinge'.

I used a wooden dowel rod for two coops.
