Hello, I need advice please. Lilly, my Lavender Orpington, got her toe stuck and hung upside-down for less than one hour before being discovered. I held her in a towel until she stopped shaking. I tried to see if she could walk, but she can't even stand up. So I wrapped her in a towel and put her in an Amazon box that supports her upright. I put her and the box into a large dog carrier on my kitchen table, covered with a blanket. She seems alert. What should I do? There's no vet that sees birds within a two hours drive. Thank you for any advice!

How is Lilly doing now?

I'd offer her electrolytes or some warmed sugar water (1tsp sugar to 1cup warm water) to work her through shock.

Hello, I made a splint. Her leg, ankle, and toe are broken. She is drinking water and eating. She cannot stand, but shows no sign of pain. I gave her electrolyte water, thank you for recommending that! Tomorrow I'll redo the splint. I suspect her hip is dislocated. I appreciate any advice you may have. Thank you, Margaret
