Hen in Laying position all day!

Please help, a buff Orpington Hen of mine, Jumpy, has been in laying position since this morning, She is in the nesting box and she is puffed up and is making a low sounding clucking noise. PLEASE HELP!!!!!!

My brother just said that she has been in their alot for the past few days. I havent messed with her but Ill got take her out of the nest and see whats up, Thank you again!

So I picked her up and put on the floor in the coop and she sat right down and continued to do those low clucks and get extremely puffed up. In the nesting box there weren't any eggs. Do you think she is stuck on an egg or something.

Cool. OK. How long do you think it will last, althought knowing her(she is stubborn) it might be a while.

Eggs have to be fertile, do yu have a rooster? they ewill hatch when she has been setting on them for 21 or 22 days. good luck.

It will probably last until the eggs hatch and she gets her babies. That's all she really wants.
