    Hello all!

This is my first post and the first time I've owned chickens!

My 4 hens and 1 rooster, they are about 6 months old, one is a Rhode Island Red , 2 White Bantam Longhorn, and 1 Modern Game Bantam and 1 Modern Game Batham rooster.

I was surprised one afternoon when I went to collect the eggs from the Modern Game hen, because she would not leave the nest and squawked at me.

She was sitting on 1 of her eggs and 2 from the other bantam hens.

I added two eggs from the Rhode Island Red hen to the nest, but I'm not sure if the rooster has been friendly with the Rhode Island Red because he is quite smaller than her.

Anyway, she started laying on the eggs on the first of October, expecting hatching around the 21 - 24.

I am currently building another boarding house for mother hen and the chicks for the first few weeks after they are born.

I'm here looking for advice, pointers etc.

    Thanks All!
