Hen is acting funny around penned up chicks

I have 4 2 month old chicks in a pen in the chickens yard ( they would not take to a hen). I have a hen with chicks that are the same age. When she sees them she acts like a rooster ( dropping her wing and chattering at them). I know she has killed another hens smaller chick. Is she trying to kill these chicks or wanting to take care of them?

She is viewing them as competition for her chicks. Given the opportunity, it is likely that she would attack them.
