Hen is acting strange

I have three hens who are almost 2 years old. One who we’ve named Daisy has started to lose some of her feathers and for the last three days she has been acting strange, she walks sideways, doesn’t eat much and i have not seen her drink any water. Usually when we call her she comes running for food (her favorite being tuna but she has now lost interest in that as well).
We live in southern Ontario and we’ve had some pretty cold days which is when we noticed this behaviour, she stays under the coop and no longer joins her two sisters who free range. Should I be worried? Is this part of molting?

Describe her walk in more detail. Is she tripping or falling over? That could be a sign of Marek's disease.

However, all the rest of the symptoms would fit her being broody, so that is a possibility too.

Do you have a photo or video of her behavior because other than the walking it does sound like her being broody

Yeah I do know what you mean but do you have a photo or video of her behaving abnormally? It will help with trying to solve her issue

Thanks for your reply, I will try to take a video of her tomorrow and send it. Again, she wasn’t drinking the water I put in front of her and she’s now walking backwards and kind of limping. Her feathers are gone from her bottom so I don’t know if she’s been standing all day not wanting to sit on her bare behind. She’s eating a little bit not like before.

Possibly could be a very uncomfortable molt, which can put them off feed and sometimes cause odd movement as the pin feathers make things painful for them. Photos would be great.

You might be right. Today, she seems to be doing better. She is now free ranging with her sisters again and eating a lot more. I did try to upload a video of her walking but i was unable to. I will keep everyone updated
