Today I went into the coop to find one of my younger hens laying awkwardly on the floor. When I picked her up and looked, her vent was very puffy and messy. But also, her feet are curled and appeared paralyzed?
Shortly after, she passed her egg without much issues. She is still laying down and can't seem to move her legs. I quickly separated her, and when looking at her eyes, I can see that in her pupil, there is a very slight hint of a grey matter inside. She is also occasionally breathing through her mouth. I'm worried its mareks disease... Any thoughts? Do i need to worry that the rest of my flock could have this disease? I'm freaking out :(

It is interesting that she has curled under toes and paralysis after being egg bound. That can happen. Hopefully, it is due to eggbinding, and not Mareks. I have never seen a brown splotch on the tongue before. Does it come off or is it stained or into the tissue? Can you offer her some Poultry Cell or other vitamin with riboflavin listed on the label today? B complex tablets or nutritional yeast would be okay to use instead.

Now I'm not very certain if she was originally egg bound, so I'm not sure, but while right now she seems to hobble around a bit, her left toes are still curled.
I just gave her some food and rooster booster vitamins and electrolytes.. I need to see if it contains Riboflavin. I'm leaving her quarantined for now to see if she improves or not. She's seems a bit better now than before, no more mouth breathing, but I'm still worried for her.
I tried to get a better take on her tongue, it almost looks stained? I've never seen it before in any other chicken.

Mareks can cause curled toe paralysis in one leg. If you can get pictures of both eyes, that may be helpful. Mareks has 4 types of symptoms, and they include the nerve form, the skin form, the eye type, and the type that causes tumors in organs. Each chicken may have different symptoms. If you could post pictures of her lying down, plus eyes it could be helpful.

Hello,
So the update overall, she has improved a bit, but not fully. Her left foot isn't curled anymore. She is eating and drinking and when I let her on the grass, she pecks but still hobbles around a bit, maybe as if she doesn't have full use of her left leg. I tried to take pics, hope they help somewhat.

Overall she's acting normal despite not walking properly.
I did some research, and could we consider Botulism? I read that it can cause feet/leg paralysis too..
I want to note, that when looking at her eyes, inside her pupils, I can note a slight grey marking around the edges. The camera can't capture it though :(

Have you been giving her any vitamin with riboflavin (B2?) It sounds like she is improving, so I would hope that she continues to do so. It does sound like she was eggbound, so let’s hope that was the problem. But I would continue the vitamins or start some if you haven’t already. Are you feeding a balanced chicken feed? Let us know how she is doing.

Yes, I have been giving her vitamins, electrolytes, probiotics all in one (rooster booster brand) and it has B2.
For feed I am doing Layer crumble 16% protein and she free ranges, and gets occasional food scraps. We recently did a little excavation work to take out stumps, which left some large holes with puddles that all the chickens are crazy about right now (especially with all the bugs coming out). I'm just worried that she could have eaten something bad? Hope she continues to improve. Does Egg binding cause feet paralysis?
