hen is gaping her mouth, shaking her head, and has what looks like mucus in her mouth. please help

Have you noticed any strange caterpillars lying about. I had a couple of chicks poisoned by one. I would stuff activated charcoal down her anyway. It won't hurt anything.

She is a mainly inside bird so I don’t think it’s caterpillars. The last time I saw one was about 5 months ago. I also woke up today and she is now acting normal again. I don’t know what the issue was. Her crop is back to normal also.

I hope her crop is able to empty overnight.

What do you feed including treats?
Do you provide grit for your flock?

I figured I would update you. We just woke up and she is back to her normal self and her crop emptied overnight again. I offered her her probiotic drink and she immediately drank it and was singing to me again. I’m so happy she is ok
