Hen just died and was gasping for air.

I have a hen that suddenly started gasping and wheeezing, soon after that she died. I can't figure out what happened. I first thought- heat stroke..... so I put her in a cool but not cold pool of water. But she wasn't hot and none of the other hens seem bothered. Any thoughts??

I would guess heat stroke or a heart attack. Generally sudden deaths are not from an infectious agent.

I just Googled it and it said gapworm is a possibility.... any idea on how to tell if that's what happened? I can't imagine heart attack as nothing had happened to cause one??
Anybody have any experience with gapworm?
